To use the Pocket DVD Wizard to convert DVD Video files,  you need the following:

 

• Microsoft Windows Media Player version 9, 10 or 11.
• A software DVD decoder,  such as Power DVD,  WinDVD,  Power Cinema etc.

 

You may also gain performance benefits by installing Microsoft Windows Media Encoder version 9.

 

If you can play DVDs in Windows Media Player,  then you should be able to use the Pocket DVD Wizard to convert the DVD (subject to legal restrictions covering backup of DVD video that may be in force where you live).

 

If you cannot play a DVD with Windows Media Player,  try re-installing your DVD software as this will usually correct any problems and allow Media Player to play,  and the Pocket DVD Wizard to back up the DVD.
