Question.
When I try to copy the video file to my Pocket PC I get the message
'Windows Media Player cannot convert the file to the format required by the device.'
What can I do?
Answer.
For some reason Windows Media Player is trying to convert the file format. This step is not required as the file is already in the correct format for your Pocket PC.
To prevent this from happening (you can turn this option on and off), start Windows Media Player, select 'Tools' from the menu bar and then select 'Options'.
A new window will appear. In this window, select the 'Devices' tab.
Select the device you are trying to copy the video file to (usually 'SD Card') and then select the 'Quality' tab at the top of the window.
You should find the option Convert files as required by this device (recommended) is selected, we recommend you de-select this option and then try to copy the file to your Pocket PC again, without Media Player trying to convert the file.
This should fix the transfer problem, and speed up the whole transfer process.
